At 6am, this morning, we started our 2009 harvest. I had hoped that there would be pictures but, as you can see, there are none.

They should, however, be arriving shortly. We’re just waiting on the resident photographer (Mum). She’s presently missing in action somewhere in Paarl.

Harvest Tommorrow

As the title promises our 2009 harvest starts tomorrow, apparently.

With temperatures just refusing to get to their normal January +30 degree mark it could mean that we have to wait to get those sugar levels up to where they need to be.

News around the valley is that the majority of farmer’s are finding their harvests running about 2 weeks behind schedule which is not necessarily a bad thing. A delayed harvest means more time to prepare and, when it comes to harvest, you can never have enough preparation time.

On a random aside – our grapes look F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C this year. Just look at those healthy, heavy and well-shaped bunches.

Healthy and Heavy

2009 Harvest

This year we’d like to include you in our harvest. We’re going to be playing with short video clips, pictures and blog posts all aimed at keeping you in the loop.

We’re not going to get too technical, but we are going to show you what makes us so unique. You’ll see pretty much first hand the amount of love that goes into producing all of our wine.
