The Tasting Room at Le Quartier Français places 31st in World Top 50
Posted: on April 27, 2010

Our favourite South African fine-dining restaurant (we’re a little biased but we think it’s OK) – The Tasting Room @ Le Quartier Français – has placed 31st in the 2010 World Top 50 Restaurants. This is 6 places lower than their 2009 37th spot. What’s even more remarkable is that Le Quartier Français has been included in the Top 50 for the past six consecutive years. Wow!

Plus this year Margot Janse (the Tasting Room’s Executive Chef) was the only woman to place in the 2010 Top 50. The other South African Restaurant included in the Top 50 was La Colombe. La Colombe placed a staggering 12th overall – which is absolutely amazing. Well done La Colombe!

We’ve already starting making dinner reservations at both these restaurants because, as we know from personal experience, once this news gets out the respective waiting lists will grow exponentially.

Môreson 2009 Update
Posted: on December 21, 2009

2009 has been a busy, challenging and incredibly rewarding year.

At Môreson it’s been one of our most hectic, in a good way, years to date.

We’ve won some nice awards:

We’ve released a new range:

Our Miss Molly range of wines has started to take off and, in the New Year, you can expect to see some exciting developments on this front.

We released our new Méthode Cap Classique labels and packaging:

These have well received and you’ll be seeing a lot more from them in the New Year.

I got married on the farm:

It was a truly magical day and both Môreson and Bread & Wine did a fantastic job. My day was unique, it was captivating and it was delicious! Next year you’ll definitely be seeing more of Bread & Wine on the wedding circuit.

We’ll see you over the festive season, if you’re in the Franschhoek area, or in the New Year. Have a safe and happy holiday!

x.

Môreson Winemaker wins 2009 Diners Club Young Winemaker of the Year
Posted: on November 6, 2009

Clayton Reabow – the Môreson Winemaker – has been awarded the coveted title of 2009 Diners Club Young Winemaker of the Year for his 2007 Môreson Premium Chardonnay.

As you can guess everyone on Môreson farm is super proud of Clayton and this amazing achievement!

This year has been a good year for Môreson and awards. In fact our Premium Chardonnay has now won three major awards in 2009. Which is really great because, even though we create all Môreson wine to first and foremost be enjoyed by you, it’s cool to recognised. Plus those shiny gold stickers are awesome!

A quick peak at the Premium Chardonnay awards for 2009:

A gold – at the 2009 Chardonnay du Monde Competition – for the 2007 Môreson Premium Chardonnay.

A 2009 Diners Club Young Winemaker of the Year title – for the 2007 Môreson Premium Chardoonay.

A Double Gold – at the 2009 Veritas Awards – for the 2008 Premium Chardonnay (which is presently available for sale).

Like I said 2009 has been a good year for the Môreson Premium Chardonnay.
