"It might come as a surprise to you, but there are actually a lot of South African wines out there named after a person." wrote Anel Grobler of drinksfeed.com
Our Miss Molly made the cut. See excerpt below, and go here for the rest of the article.
Anyone who spends any time on Môreson will know that the family is passionate about four things: wine, food, people and animals. This elegant bubbly deserves a “Miss” before the Molly. The wine is named after the family’s beloved Weimaraner. The fact that Molly has been known to flirt with a Guide-Dog or two (on more than one occasion), the Môreson team decided that a portion of every bottle of Miss Molly sold would be donated to the South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind and Animals in Distress.
The Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival ‘The Magic of Bubbles’, presented by Mastercard, which takes place over the weekend of 3 and 4 December at the iconic Huguenot Monument. Celebrate summer in style by adding a dash of colour to this year’s theme which is Black and White with Floral Flair.
This year both Miss Molly and Môreson will be represented at the festival...and we have a treat for you. We've paired up with N2 Ice Cream Lab to make a special sorbet from Môreson Cap Classique!
How does it work? To make this liquid nitrogen ice cream ingredients are blended and instantly frozen before your very eyes.
We always take Miss Molly for a walk through the vineyards come harvest time - she knows when the grapes are perfectly ripe, and lets us know by having a snack!
For this year's Franschhoek Bastille Festival we built a bespoke Miss Molly Bar - and we lit her up in French colours!
Thank you everyone who came out and enjoyed the festival with us. We'll see you again next year!

The annual Franschhoek Bastille Festival is just around the corner. Taking place over the weekend of 16 and 17 July this French affair promises fun, food and wine aplenty.
As is tradition, the Food & Wine Marquee will be set up against the backdrop of the historic Huguenot Monument—come inside to find our Miss Molly stand!
Do you know the story behind the Miss Molly range?
Anyone who spends any time on Môreson will know that as a farm we’re passionate about four things: wine, food, people and our animals. This love of animals extends beyond just our own and, as a farm, we’ve been supporting various animal-related charities – including The South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind and Animals in Distress – for a number of years. When we developed Miss Molly – a range of wines named after our beloved Weimaraner – we realised that it had the potential to help and (at the same time) increase awareness surrounding the animal-related charities we already support. So bearing this, our love of animals and the fact that Molly has been known to flirt with a Guide-Dog or two (on more than one occasion) in mind we decided that a portion of every bottle (of Miss Molly) sold would be donated to the South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind and Animals in Distress.
And… just for fun. Three ways Miss Molly is just like a French Poodle:
Tickets to the Food & Wine Marquee cost R220 person and include entry, a complimentary tasting glass, a booklet of five wine tasting coupons as well as a R20 wine voucher to be redeemed at the festival.Additional coupons can be purchased on the day. Tickets are limited and to avoid disappointment on missing out on all the action pre-booking through www.webtickets is advised.
It's almost time for our annual Bastille celebration.
This coming weekend Franschhoek will be decking itself out in Red, White and Blue and treating us all to a weekend of Bastille festivities. It is - in true Bastille fashion - going to be off The Hoek! If you haven't got your tickets you can still pick them up from Webtickets.
Oh and if you're a die-hard Bastille fan why not join the crew at The Bacon Pop-Up Bar for Burgers, Bubbles (Miss Molly, of course) and Beats on the Friday night? The Bacon Pop-Up Bar will be humming from 6pm-9pm. And, if we know anything about the Bacon-Crew, we suggest you add some flair to your outfit. They always handsomely reward those that take it to another level.

She is our new Miniature Dachshund and we are all completely smitten.
Maude – who is presently the size of a large rat – spends her days adventuring. Given half a chance she’s out patrolling the farm with Lucy and the King of Môreson, our other Miniature Dachshund, Snoop-la-Poop. Lucy has already taught her how to:
We’re having to keep a close eye on this one, she’s got trouble written all over that cute face. Yeah,[gallery link="file" columns="2"]
