Our Mercator Chardonnay has just been awarded a Winner in the 2018 Vivino Wine Style Awards. This means we've been selected as one of the world’s best wine producers by Vivino’s 26-million strong wine community! Thank you to Vivino's users, we appreciate the support!
Môreson was awarded 5 Stars for our Wine of Origin Franschhoek, Cab Franc 2015.
On top of that the rest of our Môreson portfolio - 9 wines - were all awarded 4,5 Stars each.
This is our second Platter 5 Star in as many years, it is also our very first 5 Star for a Môreson red wine.
What can we say about our Cabernet Franc? Frankly he’s not slight. Yet – for such a large character – he is unbelievably elegant. A dazzling experience for lovers of this phenomenal cultivar who are interested in a Cabernet Franc with moves like Mick Jagger.
He’s aged very gracefully over the past few years. Like all of our Môreson red wines our Cabernet Franc is now as au-natural as it gets. In fact it is even Vegan friendly. Seriously? Seriously, yes.
The Platter’s by Diners Club South African Wine Guide 2018 was launched at Cape Town’s The Table Bay Hotel today with over 200 guests in attendance, the VIPs including wine producers who had achieved the maximum five-star rating in the new edition – reserved for wines that are “South African classics” and scored 95 points or more.
The seventh annual Chardonnay Report by Winemag sponsored by Prescient is now out. There were 91 entries from 63 producers and these were tasted blind (labels out of sight) by a three-person panel, scoring done according to the 100-point quality scale.
Môreson Dr Reason Why Unwooded 2016 scored 90!
Well done to our team! Read the full report here.
How exciting? Our winemaker Clayton Reabow is a finalist for the Diners Club Winemaker of the year 2017!
The Widow Maker was recently featured in Crush Mag, paired with a delicious recipe. We highly recommend you take their advice and try out our our award winning Pinotage paired with some homemade Cumin and Cinnamon Spiced Chocolate Truffles.
This is what they said:
"Môreson Pinotage is a rich, heavy red wine. It is also considered one of the Top 10 Pinotage wines in South Africa. You can expect a bold-on-fruit wine with well-integrated plum and oak tannins. The Môreson Pinotage is smooth and elegant on the palate with a slight mocha bouquet."
